The device is designed to play standard records at a speed of 78 rpm in conjunction with any radio receiver with an adapter input for a magnetic pickup. The MS-1 synchronous motor, when turned on, began to rotate only when it was manually untwisted. The electric player had an electromagnetic pickup with an output voltage of up to 1.5 volts and a reproducible frequency range of 100 ... 5000 Hz. Gramophone needles were used in the pickup. Powered only by 127 volts.
