TK-1 black-and-white television receiver.

Black and white televisionsDomesticThe television receiver of the black-and-white image "TK-1" from the autumn of 1938 produced the Leningrad plant named after Kozitsky. In September 1937, the USSR's first public demonstration of high-quality electronic television was organized. And already in October 1938, the Moscow television center for 343 lines (25 Hz), equipped with equipment from the United States, was put into trial operation. The first TV, designed to receive the ITC, was the TK-1 console TV developed according to the documentation and samples of the United States, where such TVs have been produced since 1934. The TV had 33 radio tubes and a round 22-ELPT-1 kinescope with a neck length of a meter, which is why it was positioned vertically and a greenish image (the color of the glow of the phosphor) 14x18 cm in size was projected to the viewer through a mirror mounted in the top cover of the receiver and opened at an angle of 45 degrees ... The TV was produced until 1941, constantly improving, more often in the direction of simplification. Most of the parts and assemblies for the TV were supplied from the USA. Setting up and testing TVs was quite difficult and required high qualifications of engineers and assemblers. In total, the plant produced about 6 thousand TV sets. All of them went to laboratories to study the process of receiving television, to various institutions, and a small part was put up for free sale and bought by wealthy citizens of the USSR.
