Portable transistor radio "Surprise".

Portable radio receivers and radios on p / p.DomesticSince 1957, the "Surprise" portable transistor radio has been produced by the Voronezh Radio Plant. The Surprise transistor radio was produced in a small experimental series from September 1957. It is one of the first transistor receivers produced by the domestic industry in the amount of more than 3000 pieces. The radio is based on the previous Sputnik model. The circuit, parameters and most of the parts used are also basically the same. The radio receiver is designed to receive broadcasting stations operating in the ranges DV 723 ... 2000 m and SV 187.5 ... 577 m.Nominal output power ULF - 200 mW, maximum 300 mW, sound frequency band reproduced by a small dynamic loudspeaker 0.5GD- 11 not less than 150 ... 4000 Hz. Intermediate frequency 465 kHz. Power is supplied from two galvanic batteries of the KBS-L-0.5 type connected in series. The operating time of the receiver from a set of 2 batteries is 40 ... 60 hours. The case is made of wood and covered with decorative plastic. Case dimensions 220x157x70 mm. Receiver weight 1.3 kg. In contrast to the Sputnik radio receiver, the following changes have been made to the Surprise circuit: In the ULF, the type of output transistors has been changed from P6V to P16B, the coil data of the output transformer has been changed, winding I consists of 2x325 turns of PEL 0.18 wire, and winding II of 59 turns of PEL wire 0.35 and, accordingly, the modes of transistors were changed in terms of a voltage of 9 V. At the same time, the operability remains with a decrease in the supply voltage down to 5.5 V. The receiver was produced until December 1958, while in the middle of 1958 year, the decorative grille of the loudspeaker was changed in it. The price of the radio is 473 rubles 50 kopecks before the 1961 monetary reform.
