Tape recorders and radio tape recorders.The professional high-quality single-track tape recorder "MEZ-2" has been produced possibly since 1950 by the Moscow Experimental Plant. The tape recorder is designed to record speech and music in broadcasting, allowing continuous recording and playback for an unlimited time. The tape recorder has two independent channels (recording and playback) with two running gears, a switching and control system. Amplifying devices and rectifiers are housed in two cabinets interconnected by an operator console. Each cabinet has an independent tape channel and consists of a chassis, recording amplifier, playback amplifier and rectifier. The running gear is assembled on a cast plate and consists of three motors (synchronous and two asynchronous), a removable block of magnetic heads, a keyboard for controlling the mechanism and rollers for pulling a magnetic film. The magnetic heads are mounted on rocking platforms that allow for position adjustment using screws. All elements of switching, control and adjustment of audio frequency levels are concentrated on the operator's panel. The console has input, output and transient volume controls; a measuring device for controlling input and output levels; switching socket system; keys and signal lamps. A two-stage recording amplifier with a transformer input and output is assembled on 2 6SJ7 (6Ж8) tubes. An RF generator of erasure and bias currents is located on the chassis of the recording amplifier. A three-stage playback amplifier (2 steps on 6SJ7 (6Zh8 or 6Zh5) lamps and the last one on 6V6 (6P3S)) is assembled according to the amplifier circuit on resistances with feedback, correcting the frequency response; the input and output of the amplifier are transformer. The rectifier supplies power to the amplifiers' tubes. For auditory control, a high-quality control unit "KA-2" is attached to the tape recorder. Qualitative indicators of the device on C or 1 tapes (recording-playback path): The speed of the magnetic tape is 77 cm / sec. Operating frequency range 70 ... 7000 Hz. Detonation 0.15%. Time of continuous sounding of a full roll of film (1000 m) 22 minutes; rewind time 1.5 minutes. Power supply from AC 110 or 220 V, through an autotransformer. Power consumption approx. 600 VA.
