Subscriber receiving device "APU-1".

Black and white televisionsDomesticSince 1953, the subscriber receiving device "APU-1" has been experimentally produced by the Gorky Communication Equipment Plant named after V.I. A.S. Popov. The device was supposed to be used on the principle of a subscriber television point, when a video and an audio signal was supplied to the subscriber via cable, and the receiving device itself resembled a TV, but without a receiving unit. It is clear that there was only one program, local or relayed by the union. Work on subscriber television has been going on since the end of the 30s, but things did not go beyond experiments. Receiving devices "APU-1" for some time were also used as subscriber devices at large enterprises, institutions and organizations as information ones.
