Electric player `` UP-4 ''.

Electric players and tube electrophonesDomesticSince 1953, the "UP-4" electric player has been produced by the "Elfa" Vilnius plant. There is only a small note about the model in Radio No. 5 for 1955. A number of factories of various ministries were instructed to organize the production of universal electric players. But instead of creating new original samples, these factories took as a basis a far from perfect sample of the UP-4 type turntable, developed by the Elfa plant. This mechanism has a number of significant drawbacks, the main of which is that the DAG-1 type electric motor used in the mechanism is bulky, heavy and not technologically advanced, and the system for switching the disk rotation speeds is complex and unreliable. The release of the UP-4 type mechanism was allowed to the Elfa plant only temporarily, and this mechanism could not at all serve as a model for numerous variations of electric turntable units (PP-1 mechanisms, MP-1 two-speed electric motors '', '' MPP-1 '' and others).
