The "Crystal-101-stereo" tape recorder has such functions as: re-recording from track to track, with simultaneous overlay of a new recording onto an existing one; the ability to get stunt recordings; synchronous recording of programs on two channels; acoustic recording control; visual control of the recording by two pointer indicators with a stationary and a moving tape; volume control; stereo balance and the ability to temporarily stop the tape in the "Pause" mode from a wired remote control; control of tape consumption by a mechanical meter; automatic stop of the CVL when the tape ends or breaks; blocking the inclusion of modes recording and rewriting. The tape drive mechanism of the apparatus is made according to a single-motor kinematic scheme and is powered by an asynchronous electric motor KD6-4. LPM is equipped with devices for damping the uneven tension of the tape in the spools.
