Reportage television installation "RTU".

Video television equipment. Not included in the sectionsThe reportage television installation "RTU" was developed by the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Television in 1958. Not serially produced. RTU is intended for conducting topical programs, television reports and interviews when it is not possible to transmit using sedentary and cable-connected cameras of a mobile television station or when it is necessary to transmit on the move. The installation consists of portable transmitting and stationary receiving equipment. The transmitting equipment includes television transmitting equipment and sound equipment. The complex of television transmitting equipment includes a pistol-type transmitting camera and packing in the form of a backpack. The camera houses a preamplifier and a vidicon-type transmitting tube with a deflecting system, as well as a viewfinder, which can be optical or electronic. The electronic viewfinder operates on a 30 mm tube with an optical magnifying system. The backpack contains a sync generator, a scanner, a video amplifier, a radio transmitter and a power supply. The complex of sound equipment (the second backpack) includes a small-sized microphone, an audio frequency amplifier and a radio transmitter. The receiving device consists of two receiving units, one of the units with the antenna device is moved to an elevated place during transmission to ensure line of sight. The second receiving unit is connected to the first unit by a flexible cable and is included in the complex of typical equipment of a mobile television station (MTS). The transmission of the director's commands from the OB van to the commentator is carried out via a special radio communication line, the receiver of which is at the end of the commentator, and the transmitter in the first block of the remote receiving device. The RTU circuit uses semiconductor devices. Units such as scanners, sync generator, voltage converters are made entirely on semiconductor devices. Units of transmitting television equipment and sound equipment are powered from batteries with voltage conversion. The receiving device is powered from an alternating current network of 220 V, 50 Hz. Basic technical data: the illumination of the object is about 500 l / s. Interlaced decomposition into 625 lines at 25 frames per second. The sharpness of the image in the center of the screen is 550 lines and 450 lines at the edges of the raster. The range of the installation is about 500 m. The camera has an automatic adjustment of the transmitting tube mode when the illumination on the object changes. Power resource 2.5 hours. The dimensions of the transmitting camera are 90x90x200 mm, the weight of the camera without cable is about 2.5 kg. The dimensions of the backpack with television equipment are 360x130x380 mm. The dimensions of the backpack with sound equipment are 50x100x260 mm, the weight of the backpack is 5 kg.
