The underwater television set is used when inspecting hydraulic structures, studying flora and fauna, lifting wrecks, fishing, etc. The set of the installation includes a transmitting television camera, placed in a sealed casing (bathysphere), on the sides of which are mounted two lamps and blocks of control and regulation equipment, which include amplification and image signal formation units, a power supply unit, a switching unit and an additional video control device. The amplification and shaping unit has a video monitoring device with a 13LK2B kinescope, thanks to which the image quality is monitored. On the front panel of this unit there are remote controls for the operating mode of the transmitting tube and the optical head, as well as all other controls. The power supply contains rectifiers, deploying devices and a sync generator. For synchronization, the PTU-5 installation uses not a sawtooth voltage, but a sinusoidal one. This made it possible to drastically reduce the dimensions and weight of the installation, as well as make it more economical. The switching unit serves to supply electrical energy to the underwater lamps. For simultaneous viewing of the image by several observers, an additional video monitoring device with a 35LK2B kinescope can be connected to the installation. For ease of use, a remote-controlled flap can be connected to the video monitoring device, attributed to a distance of 5 m, with an optical focusing head for optics, diaphragm and changing the angle of view and beam current of the transmitting tube. All blocks of control and adjustment equipment are made in the form of portable suitcase-type packages. The television camera uses the most sensitive of all transmitting tubes - the super-articon LI-17. With this tube, normal operation of the installation is ensured in a clear daylight without illumination of transmitted objects. When working at night or cloudy weather, it is necessary to use lamps to illuminate the observed object. For ease of use, the television camera uses an electronic zoom system, which makes it possible to change the camera's field of view from 60 ° to 30 ° almost inertiately, without losing focus. Basic technical data of the setup: Interlaced decomposition into 625 lines at 25 frames per second. The illumination on the photocathode of the LI-17 tube is 0.2 ... 10 lx. Changing the angle of view, aperture and focusing of optics are remote. The length of the camera cable is up to 350 m. The length of the cable connecting the additional video control device with the amplification and shaping unit is up to 100 m. The ambient temperature is from +25 to -40 ° C. Power consumption is not more than 500 watts. Powered by AC 220 V, 50 Hz. Chamber dimensions excluding fixtures: diameter 222 mm, length 745 mm.
