CD player '' Corvette LP-001 ''.

CD players. The CD player "Corvette LP-001" was created in 1983 by the Leningrad Central Research Institute "Morfizpribor". By 1982, the development team of the VNIIRPA laser player had disintegrated. Some of the specialists went to work at the Leningrad Central Research Institute "Morfizpribor", where the research continued. In the same year, the firms "Sony" and "Philips" agreed on a laser audio recording standard and released the results of their long-term research on the market - the first household CD players. Technical documentation with descriptions of the standard and samples of equipment quickly ended up in Morfizpribor, and by 1983, a working prototype of the first Soviet PKD, Corvette LP 001, had been created. The apparatus used microcircuits and a Philips laser head. In total, two such players were assembled - both were used as stands for testing domestic analogs of specialized microcontrollers and decoders created at the Central Research Institute.
