For the first time in domestic radio broadcasting, a sound system with frequency modulation was implemented in the TV, which gave high sound quality. The USSR Ministry of Trade set the price for a TV set at 3,500 rubles, which was expensive even for wealthy people, and given the unreliable operation of the apparatus, which consisted in the rapid failure of the kinescope, the normal operation period of which rarely exceeded 4. ..6 months, high-voltage rectifier, high-power lamps, as a result of which the demand that appeared was stopped. Here you can add irregular television broadcasting limited to 2 days a week from 19 to 23 hours, problems with maintenance, spare parts. TV sets became unrealized, accumulated in the trade network and, despite the high price, were unprofitable for the plant. By the beginning of 1949, having produced only about two thousand TV sets, MRTP decided to stop their production.
