Provides simplex telephone and telegraph communication in A3J, A3, A1 classes at 880 operating frequencies. Developed by the Research Institute of MRP of the USSR. In 1970 it was modified into "Almaz-M". Powered by a self-contained 10 volt battery. A double frequency calibration is used to accurately set the frequency (200 Hz). Range 1.6 ... 6 MHz.
