Network tube radio receiver "Crystal".

Tube radios.DomesticAt the beginning of 1958, the network lamp radio receiver "Kristall" was developed at the Design Bureau of the Riga State Electrotechnical Plant "VEF". "Kristall" is a combined AM / FM all-wave seven-band (including VHF band) superheterodyne radio receiver with a silent motor tuning and automatic tuning mode, a remote control system, tone register, separate smooth tone controls for low and high frequencies, a wide-band acoustic system ... The radio receiver was prepared for production and was exhibited at the Brussels Exhibition in 1958 in the design of the front and rear walls made of organic glass, and special mounts were made on the sides, with the help of which the receiver rotated in different planes. For various reasons, the receiver was not put into production. In the 70s, the only demonstration copy of the receiver was put up for sale in the Skilful Hands store in Riga, and after a while it ended up in the collection of Atis Brikmanis.
