TV receiver of black-and-white image '' TE-1 ''.

Black and white televisionsDomesticThe television receiver of the black-and-white image "TE-1" at the end of 1938 was developed at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Television). The projection TV "TE-1" (Screen TV, 1st model) was developed by Ing. I.M. Zavgorodnev and B.S. Mishin, a projection kinescope with a diameter of 10 centimeters with increased brightness was created by Ing. K.M. Yanchevsky. The first TV model was installed in the Leningrad lecture hall at the beginning of 1939, and a total of 10 TV sets were manufactured. The TV is designed to receive programs from the Leningrad and Moscow television centers with image decomposition into 240 and 343 lines, respectively, at a frequency of 25 frames per second. The image is projected onto a special matte screen in a frame with dimensions of 100x120 centimeters from its back side. Such a screen, together with a powerful soundtrack, allows you to simultaneously serve an audience of 100 ... 150 people. In 1940, a sample TV "TE-2" was created with an even higher brightness of a picture tube with a diameter of 20 centimeters and a fabric screen size of 200x300 centimeters and a direct projection, which could serve an audience of 200 ... 300 people. If on the smaller matte screen of the TE-1 TV the image was still quite satisfactory in quality, although clearly insufficient in brightness, then on the large screen, a very noticeable line of the image was added to the weak brightness, especially when receiving an OLTC of 240 lines. Only 2 copies of TV sets "TE-2" were made, one for the city of Leningrad and one for the city of Moscow. Experiments on projection television continued until 1941.
