Radioactivity indicator "Pioneer".

Dosimeters, radiometers, roentgenometers and other similar devices. The radioactivity indicator "Pioneer" has been produced since 1962 by the Kiev plant "Radiopribor". At the heart of the IR is the "STS-5" counter, to which a voltage of 300 volts is applied, obtained using a transistor converter, transformer and rectifier. When ionizing particles enter the counter, a corona discharge flash occurs and an impulse appears in the external circuit of the device, which causes a click in the dynamics and a flash of a thyratron. Thus, the intensity of the radiation can be judged by the intensity of the clicks. For the "STS-5" counter, the natural background gives 27 pulses per minute.
