EP provides playback of sound recordings from stereo or monophonic gramophone records. Distinctive features of the player - high stability of the disc rotation frequency, low level of acoustic noise, low values of the detonation coefficient, a wide range of reproducible frequencies, listening to records using stereo telephones, isolated pendulum suspension of the disc and pickup, use of various magnetic pickup heads, does not require lubrication during the whole service life. EP has: ultra-quiet eight-pole DC stepper motor with a belt drive; a device for fine tuning of the disk rotation frequency with a stroboscopic indicator, a rolling force compensator, a downforce regulator, a microlift of a tonearm; pickup return to its original position, photoelectric hitchhiking; built-in, high-quality bass amplifier, allowing you to listen to the recording from the records on stereo headphones. The rotational speed of the EP disk is 33 and 45 rpm. The range of reproducible sound frequencies is 20 ... 20,000 Hz. Knock coefficient 0.12%. The relative rumble level with a weighting filter is -63 dB. Pickup downforce 18 mN. Power consumption 30 W. EP dimensions - 435x395x118 mm. Weight 9 kg. Since 1987, the electric turntable has been referred to as "Orpheus EP-103-stereo". Since 1990, the plant has prepared for release an updated electric player "Orpheus EP-104-stereo", but it did not go into production due to the growing economic problems in the country.
