The tape recorder is an analogue of the "Comet MG-206" model and in terms of design, except for the name and emblem of the plant, in design, scheme and characteristics it coincides with it. In turn, both tape recorders are the MG-206 model designed for production at different factories. In reference books the tape recorder "Lira-206" is sometimes referred to as "Lira". Since 1967, the name has changed to "Lira MG-206" or "Lira" on the caps of the heads and coils, and on the back cover on the nameplate "MG-206".
