Black-and-white television receiver "Record-8".

Black and white televisionsDomesticThe television receiver of the black-and-white image "Record-8" since October 1966 has been experimentally producing the Aleksandrovsky Radio Plant. The development of a fundamentally new mass 12-channel TV set "Record-8" (LPPT-40) began in 1965. A rectangular picture tube of the 40LK3B type with a throat length of 345 mm was specially developed and put into commercial production for this model. The kinescope had fairly high lighting parameters, a white glow and a resolution of 600 lines in the center. The "Record-8" TV set is assembled on lamps and semiconductor devices. Transistors are used in the UPCHI, UPCHZ blocks and in the LF preamplifier. The sensitivity of the TV is 200 μV. The nominal output power of the audio channel is 0.5 W. The range of reproducible sound frequencies is 100 ... 10000 Hz. AC power supply. Power consumption no more than 100 watts. By the fall of 1966, the documentation for the ULPT-40 TV was transferred to several radio plants in the country for the preparation of their industrial production, in particular to the Kuntsevsky Mechanical Plant, where the Yunost-40 TV (ULPT-40) was developed and prepared for production in the shortest possible time. and to the Novgorod Television Plant, where the TV "Volkhov-3" (ULPT-40) was prepared for production. Both TVs differed from the basic only in their external design. Prototypes were made at both factories. The TV "Record-8", which has already gone on sale at a price of 180 rubles, which was cheaper than the TV set UNT-35, almost immediately received a stream of complaints about the high noise level of the image when the distance from the TV center was 30 ... 50 kilometers, while UNT-35 TVs worked without these problems at a distance of up to 90 kilometers. The reason for the noise was in the intrinsic noise of the transistors, which almost did not appear with a powerful signal from the TV studio. Due to the low price, TVs were mainly bought by residents of rural areas, where they could compare the work of the new model with TVs UNT-35. After checking the complaints, the TV "Record-8" was taken out of production, and the TV sets "Yunost-40" and "Volkhov-3" were not put on the conveyor. A kinescope with a diagonal size of 40 centimeters (40LK1B) has been massively used only since 1973 in the Kvarts-303 and Rassvet-303 TVs produced by the Omsk and Krasnoyarsk television plants.
