Sputnik black-and-white television receiver.

Black and white televisionsDomesticSince May 1, 1959, the Sputnik black-and-white television receiver has been produced by the Omsk Stampovshchik plant. The Sputnik TV is similar in electrical diagram, design and parameters to the Zarya-2 TV of the Kozitsky Leningrad Plant. The TV case and its back wall are made of SNP-28 copolymer. The dimensions of the TV are 400x310x380 mm. Weight 17 kg. To increase reliability, in comparison with the Zarya-2 TV, improvements have been made to the design: an additional UCH stage is located successfully from the point of view of repair: the cylinders of the horizontal scan lamps are turned towards the rear wall, in contrast to the Zarya-2 where the balloon is facing the kinescope, new panels for lamps with better contacts have been used, the reliability of transformers: TVZ and TS has been increased. The TV uses a 35LK2B kinescope that creates an image with dimensions of 280x210 mm. The TV set is designed to work in 12 channels. The sensitivity for the image and sound channels is 275 µV. This allows reliable reception of broadcasts to an outdoor antenna within a radius of 40 ... 50 km from the studio. The clarity of the image in the center of the screen, determined by the vertical wedge of the test table 0249, is not less than 400, and along the edges of the screen 350 lines. The nominal output power of the sound channel is 0.5 W. It is not possible to use a TV for pickup operation. The TV is powered from the AC mains, for example. 127 or 220 volts. Power consumption from the network is 130 watts. In the first releases of Sputnik TVs, five-channel PTK were installed.
