The electrical and component parts are based on the Astra-209-stereo tape recorder. The models look the same, the difference is that the Astra-208-stereo tape recorder is stereophonic up to the line-out. The tape recorder has a built-in amplifier designed for monitoring listening of phonograms in monophonic mode on two 2GD-40 heads. The tape recorder provides: autostop at breakage and end of magnetic tape; light indication of inclusion in the power grid and recording mode; remote start and stop of LPM; 3-decade tape meter, in general, everything that the Astra-209-stereo tape recorder has. Magnetic tape A4409-6B. Belt speed 19.05 and 9.53 cm / sec. Detonation coefficient at a speed of 19.05 cm / sec - ± 0.15%; at a speed of 9.53 cm / s - ± 0.25%. Maximum output power 6 W. The frequency range on the LP at a speed of 19.05 cm / s 30 ... 18000 Hz, 9.53 cm / s 63 ... 14000 Hz. The dimensions of the device are 463x388x167 mm. Weight 13 kg.
